Since 1954, Hampden Engineering has been manufacturing electrical power distribution systems for education. The quality and design of their engineering production process controls, maintenance and test facilities has made Hampden a standard in the United States and abroad. The main office and factory of Hampden Engineering Corporation in East Longmeadow, MA is located a just few towns over from our main office location, which essentially makes us neighbors. They came to us requesting a full-scale revamp of their website, which included a catalogue of more than 300 products.

Hampden Engineering had a unique opportunity in that most websites in the industry didn’t really take full advantage of the web and the impression a website gives off to a consumer. Our first step was taking a look at how their information was currently organized and how it could be set up better. Since their website not only serves as surface information but also an online catalogue, we needed to restructure their informational architecture. Moreover, we built a new content management system (CMS) backend for the website.

On the creative end, we redesigned their website based on color schemes and styles that have represented Hampden Engineering for over 56 years. Not only were these designs clean with a modern tone, but they also made it much easier to navigate the information and product catalogue. Since they chose to redo their entire website, we made sure that Hampden Engineering was as search engine friendly as possible every step of the way.

From start to finish, the goal was to make the products of Hampden Engineering easier to navigate through, while quickly connecting customers with the types of products they wanted. By the end of the project, Hampden had a fresh online face and was poised to emerge as a standout web presence within the industry.
